Woodfibre Systems

Wood fibre has provided excellent thermal & acoustic insulation systems throughout Europe for more than 80 years. The products are sustainable, eco-friendly & totally natural and are proven for use in most building applications.

The wood fibre insulation products can protect from overheating in summer months. You are now more likely to suffer from overheating in your home than from being cold. By adding a layer of wood fibre insulation as ‘over rafter’ insulation, the added thermal mass helps to reduce temperature build up, especially in homes with a lot of south facing glazing.

Wood fibre can also be installed between rafters and as an internal roof lining.

Wood fibre insulation has been proven as a superb natural insulant within timber frame construction and can also be used to provide ‘warm frame’ construction to give a thermal bridge free dwelling. The wood fibre has also been tested and approved to have a render finish applied directly to it on timber frame construction.

Wood fibre is a breathable product and when used with vapour open renders can be applied as external wall insulation. This system is highly used and recommended throughout Europe on historic or older properties, including timber frame.

For renovation, the wood fibre can be used to provide additional internal wall insulation. Due to its hydroscopic nature, water vapour can pass through the structure at a controlled rate.

Acoustic Insulation

The density of the wood fibre boards means that it is very effective in reducing both airborne (music/traffic) & impact (rain/footsteps) noise.

Wood fibre insulation is available as flexible and rigid slabs, to find out which is the right product for your application please call
